Footprints

Footprints on the sand
so many who walked the path
some hurried some leisurely stand
for some it may have been a warpath

wobbly tiny footprints forever imprinted in Mother's heart
holding those moments lest they fly away like snow flakes
every wobble and she skipped a beat
when they stood firmly there was an ache

footprints became firm but short shrift
Hour glass had started to tick
slower you went you cease to exist
chasing each other footprints till our lives stick

Frozen in this eternal juncture as sun beamed tender
Will my footprints be a legacy or lost in stolen time forever
This is my first attempt at writing a sonnet!!
