Words Dance together
May be 7-8 years ago...this was the first November in our dream home. One morning the Sun directly hit my pillow, waking me up, like some happiness woke me up..there was a golden glow which spread across our bed room, warmth in that chill is nothing but a benediction. Over the next few years, I waited for November...that's the time of the year when I am directly woken up by the sunrays. November is a month of planning for upcoming Birthdays and Holidays!
I woke up this November with no sunrays to wake me up, didn't recognise the place I woke up...void filled me. But like I always say, what's the choice but to face to the stubborn reality. Lows are now part of life, but you know some tools to navigate it through. I had a conversation with one of my Guru, yeah these days my phone calls are from Gurus...I have never seeked one, but I think that's about spirituality and now I agree, when you are ready they will seek you.
I asked when will this sad feeling end? Grief engulfs and you feel stuck? Stuck and he stuck to that word...He said, can you really be stuck..You are on a track, and the train or a vehicle breakdowns...you feel stuck..isn't it? Even when you are stuck, you are trying something, not to cause inconvenience to people around, you call for help, you do something...so it's not actually stuck. And even if you decide to give up..and stop trying and want to be stuck a bull dozer will come and tow you away...so even if you wish to...you cannot be stuck. Wasn't it true? How true...I had to find some inspiration to get me going...like i always did!
I have by Divine 's grace published a poetry book Billion Suns Rising ... lots of poems on grief and hope..an emotional catharsis of 2 years. I loved writing them..it came straight from my heart and it was published on my 40th birthday!!!
I came across this beautiful Japanese form of Poetry " Haiku"
It's a 3 line, non rhyming poem..with 17 syllables.5-7-5 syllables in first, second, third line..It intrigued me, can an emotion be expressed in few lines? Why not? Why not just try it..Thus started the Journey of Haiku November!!
Anything which inspires me, I love to share it with others ..never know who is going through what shit..and little bit of poetry would do no harm. A beautiful community on twitter got inspired. The prompts I gave were more of my mood in the morning ! Upbeat somedays and blue somedays..what followed over the month..was beautiful words/ small poems/ Haiku's/ Just words stringed together... everything was beautiful..How each word the prompt word can be used as a million metaphors! The power of language and beauty of poetry was celebrated!!
Here is the compilation of the Haiku's I wrote each day. I used Miraquill app for the pictures as backdrop... Pictures are so beautiful that they actually need no words but they complemented my writings...so I used them..We all seek hedonism even in writings I guess. The overwhelming response from people who wrote helped me get through this tough month.
"A ripple effect of words"
Uff done with compiling them...
Haiku November it was...
What's in store December??
